Hsing-I Chuan

The Hsing-I creation myth states that General Yeuh Fei created Hsing-I Chuan based upon military spear methods. Our Hsing-I traces its origin back to Kuo Yun Shen, also known as “Divine Crushing Hands”. One story tells of a great duel between Kuo and Tung Hai Chuan which lasted for three days. The various versions of this story are not in agreement regarding the ultimate outcome of the duel, except that both men became friends and agreed to teach their respective arts side by side henceforth. It is not uncommon to find Hsing-I and Pa Kua taught together.

Shen Mou Hui is the primary source of our Hsing-I boxing (Wang Shu Shin also contributed). Our Hsing-I emphasizes the study of pure energy and vector over external form. The Hsing-I curriculum contains the Five Elements (Wu Hsing), Animals, Hsing-I Joint Hands, application, weapons, San Shou, and variety of training apparatus.
